Webb3 okt. 2010 · Philippa Foot (née Bosanquet) was a British philosopher best known for her work on morality and ethics (Grimes 2010).She earned a bachelor’s degree in philosophy, politics, and economics at Somerville College in Oxford, England, in 1942 and a Master’s degree from the same institution in 1946. Philippa Ruth Foot FBA was an English philosopher and one of the founders of contemporary virtue ethics, who was inspired by the ethics of Aristotle. Along with Judith Jarvis Thomson, she is credited with inventing the trolley problem. She was elected a member of the American Philosophical Society. She was a granddaughter of the U.S. President Grover Cleveland.
